Racquet Customisation Course
This course is aimed at people who are looking to learn about racquet customisation, what it means and the benefits of it. It will cover the very basics of why customisation is becoming more and more important for those who compete at all levels, from local leagues up to main ATP and WTA levels. While there will be a lot of discussion on this subject, there will be plenty of time for students to experience the hands-on skills of racquet customisation.

A one day course will cover the following :-
- Why the need for customisation,
- The benefit of customisation,
- Different reasons for customisation.
- What can and cannot be changed on a racquet,
- How to discuss customisation with players,
- How to set up a tennis racquet to avoid or alleviate injuries,
- Practical instructions on how to customise a tennis racquet which will cover: -
- Analysise of the racquet specifications,
- What equipment is required, and how to use it,
- Changing the specifications of a racquet using various methods,
- Using lead, silicone and other suitable materials
- Thinking beyond normal methods,
- Removal and replacing grips, both base and overgrips,
- Replacing bumper/grommet strips,
- Attendees have opportunity to spend at least half a day customising tennis racquets.
Learning Outcome of Courses
Depending on which course is attended, the learning outcome of the courses will be as follows: -
- Understanding of the importance of:
- The difference between racquet specifications,
- Benefits of using customised racquets,
- The effects of badly customised racquets
- How to customise a tennis racquet:
- Using proper and sound techniques,
- To avoid damage to the frame when customising it,
- To improve performance of the tennis racquets,
- To provide a professionally finished product.
- How to correctly:
- Remove an old grip,
- Fit a new base grip,
- Apply an overgrip,
- Remove and replace bumper/grommet strips,
- Add lead and silicone to the frame.
Costs
- Cost per person - £225 per day
- Groups of 5 or more - 10% discount per person
- Groups of 10 or more – 15% discount per person

Notes
- Courses will be provided by instructors who:
- Are certified ERSA International stringers,
- have strung a several Grand Slam tournaments including Wimbledon,
- have strung at ITF futures, ATP Challengers, and ATP/WTA Tour events,
- Dunlop or Prince stringing machines will be used on all course to aid the ease of learning of the attendees,
- All equipment will be supplied for the courses including tennis racquets, strings, grips and bumper/grommet strips.
